”I am fully aware of the seriousness of the situation but firmly deny the allegations of neglecting horses. Of course, I am not infallible but stand by that our care and training of horses are performed with the utmost respect and in accordance with established norms and regulations. This has been confirmed by inspections from authorities over the years,” writes the show jumper in a post on Instagram.
Swedish Equestrian Federation reports elite rider to the police
It was on Monday that Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet published anonymous testimonies about the rider, alleging both horse mistreatment and abuse, also poor working conditions for the staff. On Tuesday, the Swedish Equestrian Federation decided to pause all national team-related activities while work to clarify the issue was ongoing.
From Wednesday, March 13, the Swedish Equestrian Federation, SvRF, also does not sanction international competition for the rider, which means that the rider cannot compete internationally for the time being. On the same day, the Swedish Equestrian Federation reported the rider to the police.
